Hiking/ walking trails all with breath-taking routes with beautiful views of mountain streams and cliffs with awe inspiring rock formations. You will find a huge variety of avian species which makes it a perfect setting for a bird-lover’s delight. The Western Cape’s natural vegetation of wild indigenous flowers such as proteas, aloes and ericas are plentiful.
BLOUPUNT TRAIL 15.9 KM / 5-9 HOURS (Strenuous)
Bloupunt’s peak is 1266m high and once reached, the views are as far as the eye can see in every direction. Great weather permitting, you’ll even be able to spot the nearby towns of Ashton, McGregor, Robertson, Bonnievale and of course, Montagu itself.
There are three small waterfalls on the way down just off the main route.
COGMANSKLOOF TRAIL 12.1KM / 4-6 HOURS (medium)
Cogmanskloof starts and finishes at The Old Meul (Mill).
BADSKLOOF TRAIL 2.4KM / +/- 1.5 HOURS (medium)
No entry fee.
This trail goes between the famous hot springs, and Eyssenhuis / Ou Meul at Joubertpark.
Lovers Walk – 500m (easy)
This a walk through the banks of the Keisie River, below Kanonkop and through to Joubertpark and also referred to as “Mayor’s Walk” by locals.
It serves as an extension to the Badskloof trail, which is about 2.2 km in length.

No entry fee.
The trail starts on Riebeeck Street. The viewpoint overlooks Cogmanskloof with Fort Sydney and the tunnel in the distance.
